If someone dies in a public or private hospital, the attending doctor will usually sign the death certificate. Once a death has been confirmed, your family is able to contact Millingtons who will guide you through the process of arranging your loved ones funeral and importantly transfer them from the place of death into our care.

Who to notify?

To assist in finalising your loved ones affairs, there are people and organisations that may need to be contacted at the time of death. By doing this it may also ensure that you get the help and guidance you need. In the event there is a will the executor or trust officer should be notified. Contained on the Funeral Service and Guidance Form handed to you by the Funeral Consultant will be a list which details some of the organisations you may require to provide notification.

What will Millingtons do?

A funeral service is the final chance to say goodbye to a loved one. But with the grieving process very profound, you may be too upset to really experience the moment and celebrate the life of your lost loved one. A memorial service may occur at a later time. Sometimes families choose a memorial service purely because they feel uncomfortable at the thought of having the coffin in sight. A memorial service is a chance to celebrate the memory and the life of your deceased loved one.

Funeral costs?

There are costs involved in arranging and conducting the funeral. These include those from Millingtons and charges incurred from newspapers, florists, clergy, caterers, cemeteries, churches, organists, Service Tasmania to name a few. The overall costs are governed by your choices and decisions.

How much does a prepaid funeral cost?

The cost of a pre-paid funeral plan will vary, depending on the type of service that you choose. A consultant will discuss with you the different types of funeral services, including burial, cremation and other options. Many people now pre-pay for their funeral earlier in life because the cost is more affordable, the price is protected against inflation and they can become involved in the decisions made for the funeral.

Who are Millingtons Ladies?

Millingtons' Ladies was created from the realisation that women can often offer a unique kind of support and strength to grieving families. Millingtons have taken the unique opportunity to offer funeral services run exclusively by women. Whatever your needs, you can be sure that Millingtons' Ladies provides the same level of care and professional service you've come to expect from Millingtons.
